Bus trip to London, it's really long, really boring, but at £1 still reperesents better value than the plane (ah Hampton?)
Found our 1* hotel, and it's true....You get what you pay for! And we got nothing!
Saturday night - we had an overly-extravegent chinese meal for a bargain £150, but hay, it tasted good, then into London big-smoke! Bit crap really, couldn't find anywhere particularly special, ended up in some overly crowded place where they looked at me as if I had just spat in their mother's face when I handed over a Scottish £10 note - bastards!! Then we went home and went to sleep - exciting stuff, eh?
Sunday, got up bright and early and went for breakfast then decided to go Stadium spotting. Went to the tube station but there, none of the machines would accept my Scottish money, so had to beg/borrow/steal off of Hampton & Taylor to get on the Underground (Yes Ross, I owe you about 75p - get over it)
Went to get the Underground to "Wembley North" but there was a bus replacement service on part of the line, so we got the tube to "Wembley Park" insted, which was fortuanate, as from Wembley Park, there's a walkway all the way to the Stadium, so yay!
Wembley however was shut, and outside it looked like Thainstone market, it's still mighty impressive though. Then off to "Arsenal" tube station, and yes, the Emirates is right beside it, not as impressive as Wembley, but just as closed.
Then we went for lunch (Hampton - you owe me a KFC!) then to the Hotel, where "we" decided that drinking in our room would be a good idea, so Abba was sent out to buy beer! We drank for a while, but when 4pm came, I decided it was time to head on down to HPC, but HampTaylorn wanted to stay and drink more, so I just went myself, and figured i'd meet them there instead - simple....
I vastly underestimated the gigantic size of Hyde Park, knowing there was a Music Festival with 65,000 people there in the park, I figured it'd be pretty easy to spot.....no! I stood in the Diana fountain (Atcually quite nice) for a while before deciding i'd just follow the sorta direction everyone was going and yes, I was right. I was outside it trying to get in when the Answer came out, but finding the way in was a nightmare, but oh well, I got in!
Who I seen:
The Answer - only got there when they started playing "Under The Sky" they were even better than i'd hoped, they're like Wolfmother, only exactly one year behind them!
Jet - Apparantly they missed there ferry from Germany and were lucky to be there at all, wish they hadn't, they were crap a massive dissapointment
Chris Cornell - I wasn't planning to go see him, but I was right at the front of the stage by that point and figured thet "YOURCODENAMEIS:Milo" could wait until some other time. But Chris was atcually pretty good, he seemed like a nice guy too, also, when he went for a wonder I realised that I was infact standing right at the end of the runway in the middle of the stage, BOOST!!
Around this point HampTaylorn phoned me to tell me they'd arrived, but after looking around at how many people i'd have to get through to find them, I instantly gave up.
Aerosmith - Awesome, just AWESOME!! but because of the rain, they didn't play as long as they'd planed to, so no Dude or Walk on Water, which made me kinda sad. However, Sweet Emotion, Cryin' and Elevator more than made up for it, even D-M-C was there! I'd even joked with Abba earlier that day that DMC might be there, and they were, yay!
Afterwards I went to get my uber-cool Aerosmith t-shirt, but alas, they only had Chris Cornell ones left, so I went and consoled myself with some food then back to the hotel to meet HampTaylorn, but they wern't there, they somehow got lost?
"We" (Hampton went to sleep like a little girl) stayed up drinking until I fell asleep.
Then in the morning, I took the "Short" walk to the bus station, when i'm sure Wilson cycled past

It all started early on Tuesday morning with me picking up young Ross at about half 3 to get to the airport for the recommended check-intime of 4.10am. We arrived at the speedbird inn just before 4 to park up thanks to Graeme's mum. Women at reception said park behind the restaurant but there were no spaces so figured, fuck it! we'll just park at the front door instead, before crossing my fingured that my car isn't clamped when we get back)
It took about a minute to get to the terminal only to find that the front door of the airport was still locked and we had to get let in the emergency exit by a security guard, which naturally led on to the next problem, none of the check in desks were open!
Had to wait about 10 mins, then checked in at the empty Aberdeen airport and decided that no matter what time it says to check in, you should ignore it!
So, with 2 hours to wait until flight out food seemed like a great idea, however at 4am, there's fuck all open at the airport, so decided seen as I had my car with us that we'd go to the 24 hour baker!
I took my time driving as we still had 2 hours to kill, but no matter how slow we went, to get to George Street and back THAT early just doesnt take any time at all, and by 5 in the morning we were back at the airport, however we were 2 steak pies & 2 "butterys" better off.
Went straight through to departures lounge then to the bar! Tuesday being one of those rare occasions where you could have a drink in 3 different countries on the same day, so a 5am beer was had, Also met Mark here, altho he wasn't drinking
Our 6.05 flight to Paris being the very first flight of the day, didn't really expect any delays, however, at 7.05 we left, without any explination or apology or anything, we had slight worries about missing our connection to Rome, or even more important, not getting a french drink!
Plane arrived in Paris just over an hour late, we went straight to the connections bit and to the departure gate (which luckily had a bar at it!) but when we got there the plane was already boarding, so straight on the plane, no french drink I died a little on the inside
Arrived at Rome on time and after a nervous wait for our baggage stumbled our way to the train station to get to Termini Station in Rome, which, for the record, is the biggest Train station in Europe!! (If you ever go there, there's not that many trains there, it just had a massive shopping centre built inside it) We get on train, and EVERYBODY on it spoke english, it was FULL of Americans and Austrailians. Once onboard we enjoyed the nicest flat can of Tennent's that's ever been had.
Got to the station and had to find our hotel. Sounded easy, expedia said it was "adjacent" to the staion, so when we got to the front door, took a step outside, hundreds of Taxi's and Busses, but no sign of any hotel, theiving Roman gypsy offers us a ride to the hotel for a "bargain" $20 (i mean euros not dollars, I can't find the euro button on my keyboard tho) confused Taylor & Me go to find a map inside the station somewhere, we wonder for a while, find nothing & end up at a different exit to the station, which (thanks to eagle eye Cranna) "we" see the hotel adjacent to the station!
Once checked in we go to look at our room, it was about half the size of my bedroom and in it had a double bed. Great! Between the 2 of us we spoke about 3 Italian words, and still aren't entirely sure if Ci is Italian for Yes, however, battle on, we then went on an open-top bus tour of Rome...in the rain, it was still really good!
Back to the hotel to take advantage of the free internet offered to find out where Druids Rock Cafe was to go to the big party there that night, but "Map Boy" Taylor refuses to mark it on his free map. We go out for dinner in some little Italian place whose food was truly epic, and even better it was opposite the "Hotel California" it was also the place where we had our first taste of Ol' L
